Office Relocation in Glasgow, Planned Around Your Business

Office removals across Glasgow and the central belt, run by our own crew in our own vans. We plan around your trading hours rather than ours, so your team logs on in the new office the next working morning.

What our Glasgow office relocation service covers

An office move is not a house move with more boxes. There is a network to unplug and bring back up, staff who need to know exactly what to do with their own desk, equipment that is expensive to replace and awkward to carry, and a landlord at each end with firm views on lifts, loading bays and out of hours access. Our office removals service in Glasgow is built around those constraints rather than around a van and a day rate.

We move businesses of two people and businesses of two hundred. A studio leaving a serviced desk in the Merchant City for a unit in Finnieston is a half day job for a small crew. A forty desk agency crossing the city centre with servers, a print room and six years of archived files is a planned project with a survey, a written move plan, crates delivered the week before and a booked overnight lift. Both get the same three things: a named coordinator, a fixed written price, and a crew employed by us.

Office relocation sits inside our wider Glasgow removals service, so if your move is closer to a warehouse clearance or a retail fit out, our commercial and business removals service is usually the better and cheaper fit.

The Glasgow businesses we move

Different businesses break in different places on moving day. These are the ones we handle most often, with the part of each move that usually needs the most planning.

Small businesses and startups

Two to fifteen people, usually leaving a serviced office or a shared floor for a first proper space. The pressure point is timing: a licence ending on the Friday and a lease starting the same day, with no overlap to work in.

Established and head offices

Twenty desks and upwards, with a real IT setup, meeting rooms and storage that has quietly accumulated for a decade. These run in phases and almost always outside trading hours.

Co-working and serviced offices

Building management, booked lift slots, loading windows measured in minutes and strict rules about what may sit in a corridor. We work to the building rules and book the slots in advance.

Clinics, practices and consultancies

Solicitors, accountants, dental and medical practices. Confidential files, regulated record handling and equipment that cannot simply be stacked on a trolley.

Agencies, studios and creative teams

Monitors, workstations, sample libraries and a great deal of fragile kit that has not seen its original packaging in years.

How an office move with us actually runs

Six stages, and you will know exactly what is happening at each one.

1

Site survey at both ends

We walk your current office and the new one, ideally on the same visit. We are measuring lift capacity, door widths, stair turns, loading bay access and where the goods entrance actually is, because that is what sets crew size and duration. Surveys are free and usually take under an hour.

2

A written move plan

You get the running order, crew size, vehicle numbers, timings, who to call on the day and what your staff need to do beforehand. Where building management wants method statements or insurance certificates, we supply them at this stage rather than the night before.

3

Crates, packing and labelling

Crates arrive a few days ahead so staff can pack their own desks, and we supply a labelling system that maps every crate to a numbered position on the new floor plan. Where you would rather not lose staff hours to packing, our team packs instead.

4

Dismantling furniture

Desks, bench systems, pedestals, partitions and shelving come apart the evening before or on the morning itself. Fixings are bagged and labelled to the item they came off, which is the difference between an hour of reassembly and an afternoon of it.

5

Transport

Loading follows the plan rather than whatever happens to be nearest the door. Everything travels in our own vans, and on larger moves we run several vehicles so the new office is being set up while the old one is still being cleared.

6

Reassembly and setup

Furniture goes back together, crates land at their numbered positions, and equipment is placed at the right desks. Your team should walk in to a workspace they can use, not a room full of boxes with a note on the door.

What is included in an office removals quote

Every quote is itemised, so you can see exactly what you are paying for and strip out anything you would rather handle in house.

Crate hire

Secure stackable crates delivered before the move and collected afterwards. Much faster to pack than cardboard, much kinder to your files, and they stack safely on trolleys so a lift run carries more.

Packing and unpacking

Full packing by our team, or fragile only if your staff are handling their own desks. Unpacking at the far end is optional and is the quickest route back to trading. See our packing service for the detail.

Furniture dismantling and reassembly

Desks, benches, pedestals, partitions, shelving and storage walls, taken apart and rebuilt by the same people, with fixings bagged and labelled to the item they came from.

IT and equipment handling

Monitors, docks, printers, comms cabinets and servers moved in purpose made packaging. We work alongside your IT provider so decommissioning and reconnection happen in the right order.

Secure document moves

Sealed, numbered crates for confidential files with a signed inventory at both ends. Standard for legal, financial and medical clients, and available to anyone who wants the paper trail.

Storage between premises

Where the new lease starts after the old one ends, we collect, inventory, store and redeliver through our removals and storage service as one booking.

Keeping the business running while you move

The real cost of an office move is rarely the removals invoice. It is the day the phones do not ring and forty people cannot work. Everything we plan is aimed at shrinking that number toward zero.

Most office moves in Glasgow run out of hours. We load on a Friday evening and set up across the weekend, or start at six in the evening and hand back a working office by morning. For businesses that cannot close at all, we phase the move: one floor, team or department at a time over consecutive evenings, so the company never goes fully dark.

Sequencing matters as much as timing. Servers and comms move first or last depending on what your IT provider needs, and we plan around that rather than against it. Desks that have to be live first thing get unloaded first. If a goods lift is booked for a two hour window, the run order is built around that window rather than hoping it stretches.

Why Glasgow businesses choose us

Choosing between office movers in Glasgow usually comes down to a single question: who actually turns up? A large share of the search results for office removals in Glasgow are brokers. They take your enquiry, sell it on, and you end up explaining your move three times to three companies you never contacted.

We are the company that arrives. Our name, our employed crew, our vans, our insurance. That matters more on a commercial move than a domestic one, because when a lift slot shifts or building management changes the access window at two days notice, you need to reach the person who can actually rewrite the plan. Here that is your coordinator, on a direct number, not a call centre relaying a message to a subcontractor.

It matters for accountability too. The people who surveyed your office are the people who plan it and the people who carry it. Nobody turns up on the night having never seen the building.

Where we move offices across Glasgow

We cover every business district in the city and the towns around it. City centre moves around St Vincent Street, Bothwell Street and West George Street are our most frequent work, and they are also the ones that need the most planning: permit bays, restricted loading windows, the Low Emission Zone and buildings where the goods lift is booked days ahead.

We also run office moves between cities. Glasgow to Edinburgh is the most common route, and we handle it with the same crew end to end rather than transferring your equipment between vehicles at a depot along the way.

What shapes the cost of an office relocation in Glasgow

Office moves are priced per job rather than from a table, because two twenty desk moves can differ by a factor of three. These are the factors that move the number, in roughly the order they matter.

Desk and staff count

The clearest single indicator of volume. Twenty desks is broadly a van and a crew for a day. Sixty is a multi vehicle, multi crew operation with a longer plan behind it.

Access at both ends

A goods lift and a dedicated loading bay is a very different job from a Victorian conversion with a shared stair and a permit bay two streets away.

IT complexity

A cloud based office of laptops and monitors moves quickly. A server room, a comms cabinet and a print room does not, and it usually sets the running order for everything else.

Furniture type

Bench desking, partitions and storage walls take real time to dismantle and rebuild. Freestanding desks and pedestals barely register.

Timing

Out of hours, overnight and weekend work carries a premium. It is almost always cheaper than the downtime it prevents, which is why most clients choose it anyway.

Distance and storage

Across the city centre is straightforward. Across the country, or with a storage gap between leases, changes the shape of the quote rather than just the number.

We will tell you which of these is driving your price and where there is room to bring it down. Packing your own desks and moving on a Tuesday rather than a Friday at month end is often the whole difference.

What our business clients say

Rated 5 out of 5

“They moved our thirty desk office across a weekend and we were trading on Monday with everything exactly where the plan said it would be. The crate labelling did most of the work for us.”

Operations Manager
Creative agency, City Centre

Rated 5 out of 5

“We had a two week gap between leases. They stored everything and redelivered on the day, which saved us renting a unit and paying to move twice.”

Practice Manager
Professional practice, Southside

Rated 5 out of 5

“Our building only allowed loading between six and eight in the evening. They planned three consecutive evenings around that window and never once ran over it.”

Office relocation questions, answered

Four to six weeks is comfortable for anything over ten desks, mainly because building management, lift bookings and parking suspensions all need notice. Smaller moves are often fine at a week or two. If your date is already tight, call anyway: out of hours slots are usually easier to find at short notice than weekday ones.

Yes, and most of our office moves run that way. Friday evening through to Sunday is the most common pattern, and it means your team arrives on Monday to a working office rather than a building site.

Yes. Monitors, docks, printers, comms cabinets and servers travel in purpose made packaging and are handled in the order your IT provider needs. We do not decommission or reconnect networks ourselves, but we build the move plan around the people who do.

Goods in transit and public liability cover apply to every job and the limits are stated in your quote. Where a landlord or building manager needs certificates, method statements or a risk assessment before granting access, we provide them as part of the planning rather than as an afterthought.

It is the cheapest option and it works well, provided everyone gets crates a few days ahead and uses the labelling system. Personal desk contents are always packed fastest by the person who owns them. Shared areas, kitchens, archives and anything fragile are better left to us.

Yes. Where the new lease starts after the old one ends, we collect, inventory, store and redeliver as a single booking with one point of contact, rather than leaving you to arrange a separate storage unit.

It happens, usually when a fit out overruns. We can hold the load overnight or move it into storage and redeliver once the space is signed off. Tell us as early as you can and we will rework the plan around it.

Related services

Office relocation often overlaps with one of these. If your move spans more than one, we quote it as a single job rather than three.

Warehouses, retail units, workshops and industrial premises. Heavier kit, racking and stock, moved to schedule.

Secure storage for the gap between leases, collected, inventoried and redelivered as one booking.

Full or fragile only packing by trained packers, with crates and materials supplied ahead of the move.
